Scirpus sylvaticus
This rhizomatous perennial sedge is widespread and typically found in wet shaded areas such as woodlands, riverbanks and pond edges. It has distinctive triangular stems and grass-like leaves. It produces delicate clusters of brown flowerheads arranged in a slightly droopy umbrella-like shape.
