This hairy perennial is typically found in shadier, dry spots such as hedgerows, woodland rides and roadsides. It is slightly hairy and produces hooded flowers in a symmetrical pattern up the stem. The flowers are a delicate pink-purple with specks of white on the lower lip of the flower. It is very popular amongst pollinators.
