A staple of UK woodlands, hedges, and wasteland, this tall perennial wildflower is found in abundance. Its distinctive flower spikes are showy and are composed of semi-drooping, tubular purplish magenta flowerheads. It is a popular forage for pollinators from bees to moths. It is widely known for its toxicity to humans.
