Vicia sepium
This perennial climbing vetch is typically spotted in shaded areas such as hedgerows, woodlands and grassland. It has pinnate, oval-shaped leaves which are occasionally hairy. It produces pale purple, pea-like flowers which can appear as early as April. It is adored by pollinators and also has extra nectaries at the bottom of its leaves to attract ants which are used for protection.
