Carex vulpina
This perennial sedge is a very rare plat in the UK and is most likely to be found growing in wetlands, ditches and floodplains. It has a preference for heavy clay soil but has been seen on other soil types. It produces dense, spikey seed heads which go from green to a reddish brown.
