Tansy

Tanacetum vulgare

This relatively tall perennial is known for its ornamental counterparts but is a lovely sight in the wild. It can be found growing in disturbed grassland, on riverbanks and sometimes on the roadside. It produces vibrant yellow button-like flowerheads comprised of hundreds of small flowers. It is the primary food source for the critically rare Tansy Beetle and is very popular with pollinators due to its self-incompatibility.
