This rhizomatous aquatic perennial is usually found at the edges of water bodies and bogs, thriving in the shallow waters. It has tall, sword-like green leaves which smell of citrus when they are crushed. It produces wonderful green and yellow tinged flower spikes which are a distinctive conical shape.
