Greater Pond-sedge

Carex riparia

This tall, hardy, rhizomatous perennial grows vigorously, forming clumps and is extremely robust. It is typically found on wetland habitats such as marshes and pond edges. It has long slender leaves that often droop, triangular stems and produces long, erect and dark brown flower spikes.
