A semi-aquatic annual or biennial which is commonly found on riverbanks and in wet margins. It has distinctive lanced leaves and produces wonderful flower spikes. Its dainty pale blue flowers can be seen from June to August. It is often confused with Pink Water-speedwell and can hybridise with this species.
