This slender and airy perennial grass has a delicate appearance and is seen in grasslands, meadows and lawns. It is rhizomatous by nature and forms thick, hardy mats. It has flat green leaves and produces airy, pyramidal flowerheads. Often found in grazed pastures due its tolerance to grazing and disturbance.
