This perennial wildflower is typically found on dry, calcareous soils. It has slender, slightly pointed pinnate leaves and is a finely hairy plant. Lovely, pale blue to light purple ?pincushion? flowerheads bloom from June till September. It is loved by pollinators, and its seeds are popular amongst smaller birds.
