Sheep’s Fescue

Festuca ovina

This hardy perennial grass is renowned for its drought tolerance and ability to stabilise soils. It is mainly found on dry grasslands and on upland grazing pasture. It forms very dense clumps or tufts and has thin silvery green leaves. It produces slender deep purple panicles from May to July.
