Meadow Barley
Hordeum secalinum
This perennial grass thrives on cloggy clay soils and is found on grasslands, verges and is more common on valley floodplains. It is a slender grass that is generally distinguished by its flowerheads which have whisker-bristles protruding from them, resembling barley.
