This tall, hardy perennial is found on roadside verges, woodland rides and chalky downloads. It produces clusters of delicate purple flowers that appear from a thistle-like head. It is popular amongst all pollinators but especially butterflies and often, a kaleidoscope of butterflies is drawn to this wildflower.
