Horseshoe Vetch

Hippocrepis comosa

A creeping perennial that is mainly found on chalk grasslands. It produces yellow clustered flowerheads from May onwards. It is an essential and sole food source for the caterpillars of the Adonis Blue and Chalkhill caterpillars.
